RA Summer Exhibition Illustrated 2015 (catalogue)
This evening my daughter and I went to the RA Summer Exhibition private view, we should have gone yesterday evening but she had an exam today. Our first stop was to see my etching: Rapidly Scrawled Life, as we walked through the galleries she marked her favourites in the ‘List of Works’ catalogue and joked about which ones she would save up for and buy, some for herself some for me. On leaving we checked in the shop for postcards of the favourites, picking up the Illustrated Catalogue I flicked through to see if they were highlighted there.
And what did I find?
My own etching, Rapidly Scrawled Life, on the same page as the amazing Cornelia Parker’s ‘Stolen Thunder’ and the facing page to Prof. Ian Mckeever RA, Eagduru Study. Very honoured

My 2 plate etching: Rapidly Scrawled Life, edition of 30, will be part of the ING Discerning Eye exhibition which opens next Thursday. My etching was selected by the Curator, Writer and Artistic Director of Pallant House Gallery, Simon Martin.

Baume & Mercier Sculpture Commission. The sculpture is displayed in a special Promesse exhibition in the Fine Watch Room on the Ground Floor at Harrods during the month of September.
You may remember that in June I was commissioned by the luxury Swiss watch brand, Baume & Mercier, to create a 5 x’s life size wire sculpture of two hands with little fingers entwined in the ‘Pinkie Promise’, the sculpture was made to celebrate the launch of the new ladies collection, Promesse. The sculpture is already a great marketing success, from the Marketing and Communications Manager: “The sculpture has been in Harrods for almost a week now and the response has been fantastic”. Visitors to the Fine Watch Room in Harrods can collect a padlock at the Baume & Mercier stand to lock to the sculpture, a pen is available to write your message, you keep the key.
Since the launch in London at the ICA in June the sculpture has travelled to Singapore to launch Promesse and later in the year will be in New York and Dubai. Just wish I could go too.

New Movement Collective. Casting Traces. The Paper Maze
at the Louise Blouin Foundation, London.
Casting Traces is an uplifting, dynamic multi-media performance. Six highly skilled dancers, move amongst a labyrinth of reams of hanging paper, the audience free to follow independently or together as they wish. Violinist, Aisha Orazbayeva, opened the show with a beautiful melancholic solo, her shadow behind paper, which was to be painted open for us to move through the silhouettes of the dancers.
I haven’t read Paul Auster’s novel The New York Trilogy which inspired the performance but am now encouraged to.
New Movement Collective will be in Brighton performing Casting Traces. The Paper Maze, 28-30 August at Circus Street Market. Then to Winchester at The Guildhall 23-25 October. Don’t miss this extraordinary engaging work
