Brighton Festival 2016. Tilted Productions Dress rehearsal

BELONGING(S)

Brighton Festival 2016 @brightfest, BELONGING(s) dress rehearsal, a promenade performance, began in the council office underground car park and moved outside gradually getting closer to the sea, by the time we reached the sea-front the cast had doubled in size, the sun was setting and the sea became the atmospheric back drop for this thought provoking fascinating performance.

Greenwich World Cultural Festival, Eltham Palace

Greenwich World Cultural Festival is a free dynamic one day festival that takes place at Eltham Palace and Gardens with a diverse celebration of dance, music, theatre, art and circus. It  is a Greenwich Dance initiative, where I am Resident Artist. For the third year I was invited to run the family Art activities in the sunken moat. Thank you to the wonderful Art team: Max McKay-Jones, Georgie Harrison, Gaby McKay-Jones, and Becky. Max and Georgie worked with the children during the afternoon creating a cardboard tower inspired by the entrance to Eltham Palace

La Veronal, Siena. @Southbank Centre

Last night I was at the Southbank Centre to see Siena, the Barcelona choreographer Marcos Morau’s company La Veronal. A fascinating dance exploring  memories, strength and fragility of the human body.

There is a section in the dance which is in slow motion reminding me of the fantastic and atmospheric video work of Bill Viola. This is dynamic choreography, not an easy watch, but it is rewarding, posing many questions for the viewer too consider.
