Monoprints
This week I have been experimenting with Monoprints. A Monoprint is a form of printmaking where the print is made only once, unlike most printmaking where a limited edition of each image is made. I have painted directly on to the plate using my drawings as inspiration, The first is from a drawing made of Ballet Black‘s performance at the Barbican: Storyville
You Flicker. I Cannot Touch You.
I am beginning a new series of etchings inspired by lines of poetry. The first in the series is inspired by Sylvia Plath‘s Poppies In July:
“You flicker. I cannot touch you.
I put my hands among the flames. Nothing burns”
